Video Moderation

Video Moderation

User-generated content has taken the lead with current communication methods across the world. Videos are posted and shared via blogs, social media sites, news websites, online video channels and anywhere else videos are able to be uploaded. With this recent phenomenon brings many risks to viewers, websites, and the users designing the videos. Many companies have policies in place for deterring inappropriate materials from being included in such videos, yet, those policies aren’t strictly enforced. Cisco estimates that by 2014, video traffic will exceed 91 percent of all global consumer internet traffic. This poses a severe problem for society. Currently, there are very few ways of moderating what video content will be distributed. Companies have two options for checking that every video posted is in compliance with the rules that users of a website agree to. The current methods for moderating content are human moderation teams that must review every video in its entirety looking for policy violations. This practice takes time when millions of videos are posted every hour. The second, and unfortunately more preferred option, is for no moderation to be in place except the contract that users agree to upon utilizing a site’s services with a complaint system thereafter. In other words, users of a website are allowed to post first and then answer only if their video receives complaints. Many sites take 24 to 48 hours to even address those complaints leaving inappropriate materials up for too many hours or days. While the video is sitting in a review queue, it is still up and running on a site for any and all to experience.

Image Vision Labs is the first company to efficiently and quickly moderate video content. Using machine driven artificial intelligence, Image Vision Labs is able to moderate videos in milliseconds identifying issues found noncompliant and deal with them before transmission can even occur. This new tool for video moderation helps to combat the viral video transmission of child sexual abuse images, hate speech, hate logos, and copyrighted content. Video moderation can save companies millions in loss of revenues and embarrassment as well as helping to put an end to the traumatic occurrences of child exploitation. It’s a simple reality that Image Vision Labs has dedicated its research and development to protecting people and the way that they communicate.
